Supported Devices

Depending on your service preferences, attendees will connect either using a voucher on a captive portal or a password-protected WiFi network intended for devices that do not support captive portals.

  • Modern laptops, phones, and tablets should use the captive portal.
  • Devices such as POS, printers, and TV's that cannot use a captive portal should use the password-protected network.

Captive Portal

Most devices that have browsers can connect to the network using a captive portal.

  1. Connect to the event WiFi SSID.
  2. When the captive portal appears, depending on the organizer's service preferences users can enter a voucher code or subscribe to the service.
  3. Complete the prompts to finish connecting.

Supported device types for the captive portal:

  • Laptops (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Smartphones (iOS, Android)
  • Tablets (iOS, Android)

Password-Protected WiFi

Some devices do not support captive portals. For these devices, a separate password-protected network is available.

Examples of devices that require the password-protected network:

  • POS and payment terminals
  • Printers and networked copiers
  • Kiosks, scanners, and digital signage
  • Specialty or embedded devices without a web browser

To receive password access, visit the NetFire booth for an access card that includes the WiFi name and password. If NetFire representatives are not present at the event, please speak with the event organizers.

FAQs

Can I use the password network for my laptop or phone?

No. Laptops, phones, and tablets should use the captive portal with the provided voucher. The password network is intended for devices that cannot use a captive portal.

What if I am not sure which network to use?

If you are still unsure, visit the NetFire booth if we are at the event, and a representative will help you select the correct option. If NetFire is unavailable, please speak with the event organizers.

How many devices can I connect?

Each voucher may include a device limit based on your registration. This limit is not disclosed as it may vary. Normal usage should not run into limitations.

By connecting, you agree to the NetFire Acceptable Use Policy and event network terms. For more details, see the Support Center or contact the NetFire team onsite.
