Business Networking

Overview

This service provides expert-level help managing your network infrastructure. That includes everything from device monitoring and firmware updates to network configuration, security patching, and performance optimization.

Important: This is not a monitoring-only plan. It is a monthly service where your organization commits to a set number of network support hours each month.

The base monthly rate of $90 per hour applies only to Network Administrator work. Other roles such as Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer are billed at their standard rates. The monthly commitment includes maintaining secure access to your environment, so we can respond quickly without delay. It also includes configuration backups (where supported), firmware and software upgrades, patching, policy reviews, and routine optimization tasks across eligible devices. All services are performed remotely unless explicitly scoped otherwise.

Unused time does not roll over. On-premises work is billed at full rate, and travel charges may apply.


What's included

  • Fixed monthly commitment: You choose how many hours of support your network needs each month based on device count, environment complexity, and required coverage.
  • Discounted rate: Pre-committed hours are billed at $90/hour for network admin tasks. Other labor is billed at standard rates.
  • Remote support: Work is performed remotely unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  • Proactive maintenance: Includes configuration backups, firmware upgrades, and patching where applicable.
  • Performance tuning: Regular checks to optimize bandwidth use, resolve bottlenecks, and monitor uptime.
  • Policy and access review: Review of firewall rules, VLANs, and RBAC alignment with best practices.
  • Internet monitoring included: Real-time connection tracking and alerting is included at no additional charge.
  • NetFire ecosystem only: This service is available exclusively to customers already using NetFire-managed environments.

How it works

  1. Decide how many hours you want to commit each month.
  2. Use your hours for supported network devices or services, remotely delivered by experts.
  3. Request support through our helpdesk or based on alerts from our monitoring systems.
  4. Track usage throughout the month. Additional hours can be added at any time.
  5. Unused time expires at the end of each billing cycle.

Need to know

  • Time is billed in 30-minute increments.
  • Committed hours must be used within the same month.
  • No refunds or rollovers for unused time.
  • Additional hours may be purchased through a new service order or quoted project.
  • Work is remote unless onsite visits are scoped separately.

Internet Monitoring Service

Our Business Networking service includes cloud-based Internet Monitoring at no additional cost. This feature continuously monitors the health and uptime of your Internet connection and automatically alerts you and our team when an issue arises.

  • Be alerted when your ISP goes down — before your users notice

  • Track your external gateway availability in real time

  • Access historical uptime data for reviews, audits, or diagnostics

This monitoring is automatically included with your subscription, there’s no setup required.

If you ever need to update alert preferences or disable the monitoring feature, our team can assist through our ticketing helpdesk. In the near future, you'll be able to manage these settings yourself directly through our customer portal.

Network Administrator $180.00/hr Supports switches, firewalls, routing, VLANs, and on-prem networking gear.
Systems Administrator $180.00/hr Handles DNS, DHCP, authentication services, and systems tied to network operations.

  • Configure network segmentation, VLANs, and wireless security
  • Support Active Directory, domain controllers, and internal DNS
  • Optimize infrastructure performance and resolve network bottlenecks

Cloud Network Engineering

Labor Type Rate Description
Cloud Engineer $220.00/hr Designs and supports cloud networking, VPNs, cloud firewalls, and hybrid architecture.
  • Build site-to-site tunnels and virtual gateways
  • Support for NetFire Cloud and 3rd-party cloud providers
  • Integrate cloud-native firewall and SD-WAN solutions

Operations and Logistics

Labor Type Rate Description
Project Management $80.00/hr Coordinates milestones, planning, and technical documentation.
Travel Charge $1.49/mile Applies to onsite visits. Calculated from nearest NetFire dispatch point.
Unscheduled Rate Multiplier 2X Applies to emergency work outside business hours without 72-hour notice.

Standard Business Hours

Our standard support hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. Work performed outside of those hours is billed at 2X the standard rate unless scheduled in advance.
