Case Study Preview: Critical Power Infrastructure Deployment
Shortly before formalizing our partnership with Unifi, NetFire kicked off a large-scale network deployment for a company specializing in critical electrical integration and infrastructure services. The project required a network capable of supporting both warehouse operations and office environments within a large facility, ensuring reliable coverage across diverse spaces with very different demands.
Our engineering team used advanced planning tools to model wireless coverage throughout the site, ensuring that both open industrial areas and office floors received seamless connectivity. This planning step allowed us to optimize equipment placement and deliver consistent performance across the entire facility.
The design called for a fully redundant multi-gigabit wired and wireless network built to handle high-density use, industrial activity, and long-term scalability.
The build included:
- Enterprise routing and security with multiple UXG Enterprise Gateways
- Dedicated uplinks using USW-WAN switches
- Backbone distribution with Pro Aggregation switches
- High-capacity access switching using Pro Max 48-port switches
- Next-generation WiFi coverage with U7 Pro XGS WiFi 7 access points
This deployment demonstrates how Unifi hardware can scale to meet the needs of mixed-use facilities, where uptime and seamless connectivity are mission-critical. With the partnership now in place, NetFire plans to release a detailed case study on this project at a later date, including configuration details and lessons learned.
Bringing WiFi to the community: WiFi-on-Wheels
NetFire is also using Unifi technology in innovative ways, such as our WiFi-on-Wheels (WoW) trailer. Designed for events and remote areas, the system delivers internet connectivity through Starlink satellite service, providing high-speed backhaul even where traditional ISPs, and even cell service is unavailable.
The trailer is equipped with its own generator and power systems, making it fully self-sufficient for multiple days of continuous operation. Unifi switching and access points distribute connectivity on-site, extending coverage across vendor areas, exhibitor booths, and guest spaces.
At the upcoming 2025 Peter Chesson Memorial Car Show in Far Hills, NJ, NetFire will provide event-wide connectivity using:
- UXG Enterprise Gateway for secure routing
- Pro Max 16 switches for local distribution
- E7 Campus access points to extend WiFi across the venue
